Safe Mode update capability: With firmware version 1.3, the Safe Mode of the Activator Pro - comparable to the BIOS of a PC - can be updated for the first time.
Attention: To use the Safe Mode and firmware update function via the HelpTech+ app in future, a one-off setup update under Windows is required. The setup for version 1.3 of the Activator Pro can be found here. How it works:
After executing setup 1.3d, the following prompt is displayed: Install update now? Do not disconnect the power supply to the device! (Y/N) Please confirm the update of the previous safe mode by pressing the cursor routing key above the Y. A loading animation appears on the first Braille module with circling Braille dots. After 5 seconds, the safe mode update has already been carried out. Finally, the Bluetooth module of the Activator Pro is programmed for 20 seconds, accompanied by a sequence of tones.
Updates now possible directly via the HelpTech+ app: The Activator Pro 64 and 80 can now be updated directly via the HelpTech+ app (iPhone, iPad or Mac). A Windows PC is no longer required for this, as the setup is now completely imported via the HelpTech+ app. The update process is user-friendly and is accompanied by clear messages so that users can update their devices as easily as they are used to from other apps or their iPhone. Braille dialogue: The Braille dialogue in the HelpTech+ app was limited to 80 characters per message. The Braille dialogue now supports messages up to 280 characters. This enables a better flow of dialogue, especially for deaf-blind users.
